I led the design to transform a highly technical investment portfolio forecast tool into an intuitive workflow that empowers even less tech-savvy financial analysts. By integrating LLMs for natural language guidance and creating a more visually driven interface, I balanced user control with AI assistance to enable faster, clearer data insights.

Reflection
Design requires careful balance in determining user control levels.
Initially, I proposed a ChatGPT-like solution where users would simply communicate with the platform, and AI would autonomously build workflows, analyze portfolios, recommend stocks, and generate reports. While the client acknowledged this as the ideal future direction, they emphasized that users currently need the ability to manually input data and maintain direct control over portfolio assets. I adapted my design strategy to retain the workflow builder as the primary interface while positioning AI as an intelligent assistant feature.
